Obituary for Carol Parker

~ Carol Eugene Parker, 80, of San Angelo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Viewing will be all day, Friday, April, 12, 2013, at the funeral home, with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Grace Temple Ministries with Brother George Cooper officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April, 13, 2013, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Carol was born January 13, 1933, in Bokchito, Oklahoma, to Mary and Robert Parker. He joined the Navy in 1950 as a Fire Control Technician and later studied Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He served as Commander of the American Legion, was a member of the Masons, member of The Shrine Temple and was very active at Grace Temple Ministries. After retirement he worked as a crossing guard for San Angelo Independent School District.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Parker; brother, Ralph Parker; sister, Robbie Davis; daughters, Cathy Sitz, and her husband Garry, Carolyn Lubke, and her husband Ronald, Connie Jordan, and Renee Simpson; grandchildren, Catrina Neslage, husband Ivan Fernandez, Tristan Sitz and wife Jackie, Shea Sitz and fiancé Evelyn Armstrong, Lacy Lubke, Shanna Sitz, Nicholas Simpson and Kyle Simpson; great grandson, Evan Sitz; several nieces and nephews.
Carol will be remembered and greatly missed. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
In lieu of flowers family requests’ memorial contributions be made to Grace Temple Ministries.
